Some individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities may come with behavioral challenges that may hinder their abilities to communicate and participate with other people. At Community Comfort Care, however, we aim to help our clients solve their challenging behaviors and hone them into using their energy and emotions through productive activities, imitation training, differential reinforcement, and shaping new positive behaviors. That way, they may be able to find new passions that will help ignite new interests.
Our professionally trained behavioral support staff will ensure to work with the resident, their families, and their program staff to work on the behaviors that need strengthening or reduction. Examples of behaviors that we can help maximize are social skills and communication. We also specialize in making sure that unwanted behaviors, such as rude gestures and hurtful words, will be minimized as much as possible through positive reinforcement.
